Weddings at Pasadena Museum of California Art

I've lived in the Pasadena area for most of my life and recently discovered the Pasadena Museum of California Art, (PMCA). A really nice spot for an afternoon visit.

Equally nice is on the rooftop is a location that is available for weddings and special events. The rooftop has a beautiful view of Pasadena's historical skyline. There is also an indoor gallery location adjacent to the rooftop. The entire space is raw and very open to creation.

To help place these thoughts into context, we were able to photograph the space in it's grandeur.

The view from the rooftop.

Last Days of Summer

Alas we come to the closing days of the Summer of 2010. What better way to close it off with a few family portraits of the Gil family (no relation), at Torrance Beach?

This Gil family has it's roots in Portugal. Who can go wrong with such a regal name? :-)

The Point & Shoot Workshop

I am announcing a VERY exclusive free workshop where I'm going to share with you my "secrets" for getting "great portraits" out of your tiny point & shoot camera.

If you would like to take more interesting portraits that are sharp, evenly lit, compliment your subject and want to learn how to get THE MOST out of your little camera, then this workshop is for you.

Here are just a few things I'll be sharing:

• How do I compose a portrait so that it's more interesting?
• How do I find the best lighting?
• What are some of the settings on my camera that will help me?
• And much more!

Because I really enjoy small group interaction and want to give everyone proper attention, I've limited this workshop to 6 attendees only and seating will be given on a "first come, first served" basis.

(I told you it was exclusive. Did I also mention that it was FREE?)

I'm hosting the workshop at my San Marino photo studio on October 2 from 10am to 1pm.

If you'd like to claim one of the 6 spots, here's what you have to do...

Just call me (626-588-2445) or email me with your name, cell phone number (just in case there's a last minute change), and the make/model of the camera you're using and bringing (if you know it).

If you make a reservation but can't make it, please let me know ASAP as I will be keeping a waiting list as well.

Thanks and hope to see you there!

Stay Humble

Ok, this is not photography related but it was too funny not to share. My good friend and I often share sports news via email and we usually keep one another abreast with the latest.

Today, he sent me this video below...

This made my day and kept me laughing for awhile! You don't need to understand the language to get what's happening here. This Goalie has been watching too much American sports. I suppose there is a very valuable life lesson here? At least for me there is.

Despite our success, stay humble.
