The Last Year

Devonne will be a High School Senior. Do you remember that exciting time? The last year of Federal obligation. Cruise control. On the brink of adulthood.

Here are a few from our Senior Portrait session;

Professors of Economy Unite

Family traveled from afar to share the week with Mary & JR and witness their union.

The view was beautiful. It was a very pastoral scene in the hills of Malibu. The event took place on a private estate.

You may recall this very special couple from their highly charged Engagement session at Union Station. We all witnessed the same energy between them on this day as well.

It's always a gift for us to be a part of such a union.

The talented wedding professionals at this beautiful wedding were:

Festa do Divino Espirito Santo

We were blessed with the opportunity of photographing an extremely grand and eventful festival. Festa do Divino Espirito Santo is a 4 day Festival celebrated by the Portuguese community here in Artesia.

Two Queens are selected to represent the community. One in her teens and the other the age of a young child. Each Queen has two Princesses at her flank.

During the Festival, a transition is made from the Queen's and Princesses of the former year to the current. The intent of the Festival is to celebrate this transition as well as raise funds for the less fortunate.

Much thought and planning goes into this grand event. People of all ages, from infants to seniors participate to make this Festival a success. Many in the community participate with various roles. The level of detail and ceremony is out of this world. It's one of the most ginormous events I have ever taken part of. Each of the four days is a very whole new experience.

Never in my life have I seen the sense of community as witnessed here. They are very proud of their heritage and culture. It was a very beautiful thing to see and be a part of.

I would like to thank my dear friend Ana for making this connection. After 14 years of knowing each other, I feel like I know her so much more from being a part of her culture for four days.
