San Marino Photography Studio - Le Studio Update III - The Flatiron

Almost in the home stretch! I'm hoping to be ready by February 1. Ever watch those reality shows where they document a business try to beat the clock before opening day? I always wondered why they are always pressed for time? Only now do I know that anything can happen.

Featured piece today is the Flatiron Desk. The desk is fashioned from reclaimed wood. Feels soft and welcoming. Looks rigid and strong. Fits just right.

San Marino Photography Studio - Le Studio - Update 2, The Chair

So most of the furniture has been moved in and assembled. Awaiting the sofa, chairs, main desk, wardrobe closet and rug. Once that is complete, we can move to accessories and art.

At any rate, I wanted to devote this blog post to my beloved new antique chair. She will be featured at the main reception desk where I very much know she will receive a great number of compliments! I just can't stop looking at her! She resonates with me so much. It's just a non-verbal thing between she and I. She's very fancy too.

I hope you love her too..

Mariposa

She saw this costume hanging in a vendor's booth at the Rose Bowl Flea Market. She would not relent until I said yes. She knows my weaknesses and cuts through me like butter.

I bargained with her. I made her promise to allow me a photo session with her in the costume. She didn't think twice and said yes.

Months later, she held her end of the bargain...

San Marino Portrait Studio - Le Studio - Update 1

Progress is coming along great in the new studio. Floors are done and painting is underway. By the looks of it this morning, there is very little painting left to do. Once this is complete, I believe the next step would be moving in all of the furniture. Will keep you posted.

Here is the studio as of this morning...

San Marino Photography Studio - Le Studio

Last month I was very blessed with the possesion of a great space. It's the perfect little space for where the business is heading at this moment in time. It's a very exciting time.

Our soon to be studio is located in San Marino. It's in an atiquated Spanish style building on Huntington Drive. What's kind of wierd is that I've passed by this building nearly my whole life and never noticed it till recent years. Isn't life funny that way? You sometimes end up working in a building or living in a home that you passed by for years?

It's a very raw space at the moment, but with the help of a very talented designer, Camille Cothron, this place will look polished in no time! We are making good progress with updating the flooring and electrical. Next is paint and furniture installation.

The space will serve as a photo studio, client lounge and working office. I will try to keep you updated with recent progress.

Here is the space on the first day of possession....

If that wasn't enough, one of my childhood celebrity crushes was in attendance too! Great night!

Pasadena Portrait Photographer - San Gil Family Portraits

Our last Holiday Session of the season was with the San Gil family. We spent some time at the grand Pasadena City Hall. The perfect spot for family photos.
